Happy Horrortober!

So we've just recovered from a major hurricane, and with parts of the gulf coast barely recovering from the brush with Hurricane Helene a few weeks ago, Hurricane Milton wrought havoc across the middle section of my home state. Some folks lost everything, even their lives. It's been heartbreaking and stressful, to say the least. But I'm both thankful and grateful that my friends and family and extended family are A-OK. We suffered a skylight being blown out at midnight (which was scary as F, lemme tell ya!), some yard debris, which was peanuts compared to what many others have been dealt.

But I digress.

Florida fall has finally arrived! Cool temps with even cooler ones coming next week. Now that we're not looking at a major hurricane bearing down on us (fingers crossed we don't see another this season), I'd like to finally put up my Halloween decorations. Oh and a few other important items to mention, too.

Hopefully and with any luck, my forthcoming horror novel, Mister Jack: Requiem, should be out by Halloween, for ebook initially and the trade paperback to soon follow! Stay tuned to my social media channels for exact release dates and info! Oh and while I sneak-peaked the cover a week or so ago on FB, here's the full wrap! 🎃🖤
The Prequel Novel to Mister Jack and Night of the Pumpkin God!

"Almost everyone in Summerdale knows the stories of crazy Josie Howard, an old woman reputed to be a witch living in the woods outside of town.

But not many know the story of her early life, growing up with her mother, Elizabeth Howard, Summerdale's schoolhouse teacher. Because of her recent sordid past, Elizabeth is an outcast of sorts, with some accusing her of witchcraft.

It's the mid 1930s, and the country still struggles from the Great Depression. Prohibition has ended and folks are hopeful things will soon turn around.

Elizabeth has been dealing with a mysterious illness that she fears will take her life long before she's done raising her daughter. But her troubling health issues is the least of her worries.

Two sinister figures arrive in town before a late October solar eclipse. They plan an unspeakable act that could unleash malevolent forces beyond comprehension. And certain death is only the beginning of the end!"

And some of you may have noticed from my previous blog post, and even more recent social media posts, that my Halloween horror novelette Mister Jack and its full-length horror novel followup, Night of the Pumpkin God, got tweaked with a font upgrade to match the new book. Rebecca at atrtinkcovers.com does such phenomenal work, and highly recommend her!
Pretty badass, right? I've also got some new promotional bookmarks coming for these, which I'm now referring to as the Mister Jack/Summerdale trilogy. 🎃🖤

Incidentally, yesterday I got tagged by book reviewer/editor extraordinaire Lisa Lee Tone on Night of the Pumpkin God for a series of favorite October reads over at this site:

https://mementomoriink.wordpress.com/2024/10/08/night-of-the-pumpkin-god/

She chose my horror novel as her first recommendation and I'm truly honored, humbled, and flattered. Thanks so much, Lisa. You rock, my friend! 🎃🖤

That's about it for now! I've got copies of the two books above if anyone wants signed copies (dm me if interested via social media, Facebook being the easiest way to do so), US shipping only. In a few weeks, when the new book is available, I'll be offering a special bundle sale for all three trade paperbacks in the trilogy.

As always, thanks so much for reading! 🎃🖤
